How to Make Mango Body Butter: Recipe, Benefits, Uses, DIY

Make your own body butter using only natural ingredients. It'll be quick, easy and homemade. Mango butter has a lighter texture compared to shea butter. Shea butter, abundant in fatty acids, may clog pores, while mango butter, which transforms into a lighter oil, serves as an excellent emollient suitable for all skin types, while also being gentle on children's skin. When finished, mango butter has a hardness of semi-soft. While shea butter can be whipped into a soft and fluffy texture, mango butter can also be whipped, though it may not achieve the same level of fluffiness.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Raw Mango Butter

  • 1/4 cup Carrier Oil (For example: Coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil etc)

  • 5-15 drops Essential Oil (optional)

  • 1 tsp Arrowroot Powder

Directions

  • In a double boiler, melt the mango butter and oils together. I put mine a glass jar and placed in a bottle warmer

  • Remove from heat and place the mixture in the freezer for 25-35 mins, or until it is hardened but not frozen.

  • Remove from the freezer and mix with a hand blender until blended.

  • Add the arrowroot powder and 5-15 drops of essential oils.

  • Pour into a clean container and store in a space without direct sunlight.

Skin Use

  • Relieves Dry Skin Mango butter works great as an emollient (soften skin) by also relieving eczema and psoriasis, sunburn and other minor skin irritants

  • Antibacterial and antimicrobial Properties These properties assist in protecting and repairing the skin

  • Anti Aging Properties Rich in vitamin E, mango butter may reduce the appearance of fine lines, sun damage, or sunspots, and wrinkles.

  • Unclogs Pores Great for all skin types, this butter can also cleanse pores without causing acne

  • Collagen Booster Mango butter also contains high amounts of vitamin C which is beneficial in giving a much more radiant, youthful look.

Hair Use

  • Reduces Breakage Mango Butter can be used as a hair conditioner or hair mask resulting in hydrating the hair without weighing the hair down

  • Promotes Soft Hair This can prevent dryness, frizz and promotes shiny, luxurious hair.

  • Promotes Hair Growth The emollient properties can also seal in moisture assisting in hair retention.

If you want to add extra hydration to your hair care routine, I recommend putting mango butter into your shampoo or using it as a deep conditioner.
